Mentor Administrator - Assistant Principal

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must have five years of administrative experience as

an assistant principal, principal or vocational administrator and must be

willing to complete a West Virginia Department of Education approved mentor

program. The successful candidate may not be responsible for or participate in

the evaluation or supervision of the beginning principal intern.

Length Of Employment:

2025-2026 School Year

Salary :

The Mentor Shall Receive A Stipend Paid By The West Virginia Department Of Education.

Responsibilities:
In Addition To Abiding By Established Laws, Policies, Rules And Regulations, The Mentor Administrator Shall Have The Following Extra-Duty Responsibilities And Duties:

Assist with the orientation of the new assistant principal.

Schedule no fewer than three regular meetings per semester with the beginning administrator to discuss topics of concern, which may include but not be limited to, evaluation of personnel, budgeting, scheduling, instructional leadership, discipline, public relations and conferencing skills.

Schedule release time, as approved by the immediate supervisor, to work with the beginning administrator.

Provide information to the immediate supervisor who will complete the final evaluation of the beginning administrator's success in the internship program.

Note:

Mentors Are Expected To Attend The Beginning Teacher/Mentor Institute, Date And Location To

Be Announced, Substitutes Will Be Provided.
