Elementary Gifted Teacher Job Summary:
To provide an educational environment in which students succeed academically, socially, and physically, and to implement an effective educational program aligned to curriculum standards and best instructional practices.
Terms of Employment:
9-Month Position. Salary based on board-approved schedule.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution Valid teaching certification Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to develop and implement curriculum Ability to use technology effectively Demonstrates professionalism, punctuality, and consistent attendance If gifted endorsement is not currently obtained, the candidate must be willing to work towards this added certification
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrates knowledge of curriculum and instructional best practices Uses technology to support instruction and student learning Maintains a safe and effective learning environment Differentiates instruction to meet diverse student needs Uses assessment data to guide instruction Communicates effectively with students, parents, and staff Gifted Program Responsibilities Facilitates the implementation of the Network and State Gifted Education model with fidelity Trains and supports teachers, including implementation of the second-grade screening and referral process Coordinates and manages the referral process for the Gifted Program Collaborates with general education teachers to differentiate instruction and provide enrichment aligned to diverse learner needs
