An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

12:30 PM-6:00 PM Part-Time Responsibilities Create Key a Safe & Positive Environment Supervise students and ensure their safety throughout the program. Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and structured environment. Follow all applicable OST licensing requirements, safety procedures, and Elite Learning policies. Lead Academic & Enrichment Activities Lead and assist with structured academic, recreational, and enrichment activities. Support student learning through engaging and age-appropriate programming. Encourage participation and adapt activities to meet students' individual needs. Active Supervision & Student Engagement Actively supervise and engage with students throughout the program. Encourage positive behavior and provide appropriate redirection when needed. Maintain appropriate supervision at all times and never leave students unattended. Communication & Teamwork Communicate professionally with coworkers, site leadership, and school staff. Report student concerns, incidents, or safety issues promptly to the Site Supervisor or Director. Work collaboratively with the after-school team to ensure a successful daily program. Professional Conduct Serve as a positive role model for students. Maintain professionalism and reliability at all times. Complete all required training and participate in professional development. Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older . High school diploma or GED required, or currently enrolled and expected to complete within one year, when applicable. Must successfully complete required criminal background checks and fingerprinting . CPR/First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain. Must be able to safely and effectively perform job duties in an after-school/childcare environment. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience working with children in childcare, education, after-school programs, camps, or youth development . Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to manage and engage groups of students in a structured environment. Basic computer and technology skills. Dependable attendance and a positive, professional attitude. Physical Requirements Ability to actively supervise and engage with students indoors and outdoors. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and participate in activities for extended periods. Ability to occasionally lift and move program materials and supplies.
