Responsibilities Implement and adapt curriculum plans aligned with early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and Montessori or other specialized approaches as applicable Develop and execute engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and developmental needs of young children Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement, clear expectations, and consistent routines Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and social interaction among students from diverse cultural backgrounds Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities through meetings, reports, or digital platforms Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to share best practices, coordinate activities, and ensure curriculum implementation aligns with school policies Utilize educational technologies and computers to enhance instruction and student engagement while adhering to best practices in technology integration Skills Strong knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices in preschool education Experience working with children in classroom settings, including preschool or Montessori environments Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and curriculum implementation tailored for young learners Skilled in behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies to create a positive learning atmosphere Ability to work effectively with students from diverse cultural backgrounds and adapt instructional methods accordingly Excellent communication skills for parent-teacher interactions and team collaboration Familiarity with mandated reporting laws, school policies, and confidentiality requirements related to child welfare Experience working with children with autism or special needs is a plus Knowledge of literacy education, math fundamentals, and early childhood instructional strategies Comfort using educational technologies on computers or tablets to support instruction This paid long-term substitute position is ideal for educators passionate about early childhood education who thrive in collaborative environments.
