An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

Montessori Center School (MCS) is an independent, non-profit day school, serving children ages 18 months to 12 years old. MCS is seeking a part-time elementary afterschool care teacher who will work in several functional areas, including pre-school nap room and elementary after school care. Responsibilities include assisting with naptime, monitoring the playground and working in the afterschool care program. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, flexible and dedicated team player who is patient and caring and possesses a positive attitude, nurturing personality, and loves working with children. This individual must be able to effectively supervise children in safe learning/play activities and facilitate the development of social skills. Previous relevant experience is preferred.

Hours:

Monday -Friday 12:45 pm-5 :30 pm (PT)

Status:

Non-exempt Job Requirements:
