An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Overview Job Description:
The Elementary School Teacher is a key member of the school staff and works together with other staff members to support the mission, vision and values of TDCA. As a teacher, you will be responsible for the operation, administration, and teaching of a designated elementary combined grade-level classroom. The Elementary School Teacher is committed to offering a high-quality education for students while promoting the culture of TDCA and upholding the family partnership model. They will create an open and honest work environment that inspires professionalism and rewards creative, innovative teaching.
Work hours:
Monday-Thursday, 8am-3pm +
All Required Meetings Length of Assignment:
10 months (Teaching) + Additional Teacher Training in August.
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years teaching experience preferred Minimum of Bachelor's Degree at a college or university in education or a related field. Preferred active and valid CA Teaching Credential but not required. CPR certification and completion of a background check
Teacher Responsibilities :
Create a safe, organized, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment. Plan and deliver high-quality instruction aligned with Common Core, Next Generation Science Standards, Bible curriculum, and school expectations. Foster inquiry-based learning, effective classroom management, and students' academic, social, and spiritual growth. Assess student learning, provide timely feedback, maintain student records, and prepare students for standardized testing. Maintain classroom resources, including a print-rich environment and classroom library. Pray for students regularly, and support their spiritual journey. School & Family Partnership Build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and administrators through regular communication, collaboration, and mutual respect. Provide parents with classroom expectations, homework information, student progress updates, and quarterly conferences. Support the mission of the school by participating in staff meetings, training, prayer, fundraising, community engagement, and school events. Encourage students to serve their community and grow in Christian character. Professional Responsibilities Demonstrate professionalism through punctuality, reliability, flexibility, integrity, confidentiality, and a positive attitude. Model Christian values through prayer, personal conduct, and respectful interactions with students, families, and staff. Maintain a safe learning environment and fulfill all physical duties required to supervise and care for students, including field trips and emergency response.
