Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. 2. A valid Colorado Teaching Certificate endorsed or Highly Qualified in area of assignment.
Job Goals:
The Explore Series Camp Invention Instructors engage children through hands-on, inquiry-based activities that are part of an overall storyline and theme. Each day features National Inventors Hall of Fame Inductees, Step-By-Step Instructions, Guiding Questions, and Discussion prompts. Many educators have found that they can apply their experiences from Camp Invention to their classrooms during the school year, such as facilitating Project-Based Learning, practicing divergent and convergent thinking, incorporating open-ended instruction, and implementing tips for teams.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. The NIHF's The Attic™
Instructor:
  • Enjoys STEAM and making the connection between the arts and sciences.
  • Is excited to support children as they build a bot and experiment with paint and other mediums.
  • Is passionate about encouraging self-expression and exploration of materials.
2. The Marble Arcade™
Instructor:
  • Is interested in and comfortable with physics and motion, chain reactions, dominoes, and kinetic art.
  • Is excited to support children by encouraging persistence and teamwork as children build and create open-ended structures.
  • Has access to a large, open space for the Marble Arcade boards to spread out and up as children build and add onto the boards each session.
3. The Robotic Aquatics™
Instructor:
  • Is excited to explore marine biology, biological sciences, and ocean technology alongside participants.
  • Likes to facilitate Social-Emotional Learning, including self-awareness, self-expression, and responsible decision-making.
  • Enjoys facilitating open-ended invention challenges that involve imagination, brainstorming, sketching, prototyping, and pitching.
4. The Spacecation™
Instructor:
  • Interested in space exploration, assembling simple mechanical devices, and phenomenon science.
  • Enjoys facilitating an immersive experience that incorporates real-word science with a touch of fantasy.
  • Has access to a large, open area to accommodate participant rotation between simultaneous activities (e.
