Sign on Bonus! $1,500 Position Starts on July 29, 2026 Job Summary We are the first public charter school in CO on sovereign tribal land! We serve the Ute Mountain Ute community of Towaoc and Montezuma County students. Our school is rooted in revitalizing the Ute language and culture while driving high academic performance. Check us out at www.utekca.org. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary School Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for young students, promoting their academic and social development. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, utilizing innovative teaching methods, and ensuring that each student receives the support they need to thrive in their educational journey. This is a full-time, salaried position over a 4-day school week (Monday - Thursday)(PD on Fridays). Some training may be required based on your experience and certifications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Education or related field Teaching certification (or willingness to obtain) Minimum 3 years experience working with youth/teaching Commitment to Indigenous culture and language education Duties Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Educate students in various subjects, including Math and Literacy education, while integrating learning technology into the classroom. Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes. Manage classroom behavior effectively to create a conducive learning environment. Provide mentorship and support to students, fostering their personal growth and academic success. Collaborate with parents, staff, and administration to ensure a holistic approach to student education and well-being. Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices. Skills Strong experience and skills for lesson planning and communication with parents and colleagues. Experience working with trauma impacted, EL and low achieving students Proficiency in Math concepts and literacy education techniques. Ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while promoting a positive atmosphere. Familiarity with learning technology tools that enhance the educational experience. Excellent mentoring skills to guide students in their academic journey. Knowledge of childcare principles to support the developmental needs of young learners.
