Third and Fourth Grade Teacher Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford West Hartford, CT Job Details Full-time $50,000 - $55,000 a year 3 hours ago Qualifications School experience Teaching math Teaching Certification Master's degree Working with students Full Job Description Third and Fourth Grade Co-Teacher The Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Hartford is seeking an outstanding General Studies co- teacher to join our third and fourth grade faculty for the 2026-2027 School Year. If the candidate is also able to teach Judaic Studies, that would be a wonderful bonus, but not required. Schechter uses a progressive multi-age model approach to education, and our school is guided by Schechter's mission and core values of Chochmah (Wisdom), Lev Tov (Good Heartedness), Kehillah (Community), Mitzvot (Jewish Practice), and K'lal Yisrael (Unity of the Jewish People). Our faculty believes in the innate abilities of each student, and works in partnership with other members of the faculty and families to help each child grow. Lead teaching math, science, and Judaic Studies (if applicable) Support co-teacher in reading, writing and social studies using whole group, small group and individual instruction Designing hands-on, engaging learning activities that provide opportunities for students to explore and construct meaning Differentiating instruction and materials to meet the diverse needs of learners in the classroom Developing a warm, inclusive and supportive classroom environment Helping students to develop social and emotional competencies Working collaboratively with team members on programs and supporting students Keeping accurate documentation of student progress Maintaining an ongoing dialogue with parents about student progress Master's degree and appropriate teaching credentials or certification Demonstrated success in teaching elementary school A passionate, student-centered approach to teaching The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Exceptional listening skills and sensitivity to the needs of others A willing communicator and collaborator; an enthusiastic team player A deep belief that people are able to grow and change Comfortable working within a fast paced, dynamic, school environment Unquestionable personal integrity, excellent judgment, sound instincts, diplomacy, patience, and strong work ethic A desire to participate fully in the life of a vibrant school community.
