An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

The interventionist/DLI Teacher (Differentiated Literacy Instruction) is responsible for pulling students in Tier III or low performing to tutor them one to one or small group. They will also be responsible for communicating with the teachers to create a plan of action including an academic goal and track progress. The interventionist will help the homeroom Elementary teacher with classroom small groups and other scheduled activities. As an after school DLI teacher they will be responsible to pulling students that are scoring Frustrational on ORF testing and tutor them ,with the goal of having them move up in their reading ability. Monday - Friday (8:30 am to 5:30 pm)
