Elementary Aftercare Teacher The purpose of the Elementary Aftercare Teacher is to provide a structured after school experience for students including daily themed activities, watchful supervision, and loving discipline as needed. Ultimately, the Elementary Aftercare Teacher is responsible for supporting Crown of Life Christian Academy ("CoLCA") in its mission of providing excellence in education, rooted in the timely truths of God's Word. The Elementary Aftercare Teacher should have a cooperative relationship with the classroom teachers and all staff of CoLCA. They work as a team to provide children with the best educational experience possible. The Elementary Aftercare Teacher will work collaboratively with the Elementary lead teachers and the CoLCA staff as a whole, to support students. The Elementary Education faculty and staff have a cooperative relationship with the faculty and staff members in the Early Childhood Education department. It is essential that all levels of the Academy work closely together so that the curriculum and other aspects of the Academy flow seamlessly as children grow from one level to the next. The faculty and staff also work collaboratively with the pastor of Crown of Life Lutheran Church. The goal is to work together in the spreading of the Gospel. Qualifications

• High school diploma
• Elementary Education or Early Childhood Education coursework, training, or experience (formal college education preferable)
• Able to lift 40lbs, bend, twist, get on child's level, and sit on the floor.
• Communicates effectively, excellent interpersonal skills
• Builds strong relationships with students, parents, and families
• Collaborates with colleagues as a valuable member of the faculty team
• Shows creativity and organization in lesson planning and joyfully completes assigned tasks
• Demonstrates an energetic, positive attitude towards students and work
• Reliable, motivated to complete tasks with excellent results
• Independent worker, self-motivated to take initiative
• Exemplary Christian role model who lets his or her "light shine" when interacting with the Crown of Life family and the community Duties As a practical definition, the

Elementary Aftercare Teacher:

• Is service-minded, working hard and giving all glory to God.
• Is a cooperative, team player, and pursues personal and professional growth opportunities.
• Creates engaging weekly lesson plans consisting on one themed activity daily.
• Works with CoLCA's Principal to create a classroom management plan and daily aftercares schedule including snack, outside/gym time, and at least one prepared/structure activity daily.
• Supports CoLCA students o Observes student work and provides support as needed o Redirects children's behavior in order to increase attention and focus
• Builds strong relationships with students, parents, families, and colleagues o Engages in appropriate and positive teacher-child interactions in the classroom o Communicates regularly and effectively o Contributes to team-building exercises with staff
• Maintains records in ProCare and appropriately utilizes other software systems approved by the Academy Required hours
