This role is focused on bridging the gap between foundational elementary concepts and the departmentalized structure of middle school. You will be responsible for creating a supportive, high-energy classroom environment that fosters academic rigor, emotional maturity, and social responsibility. Spiritual Qualities 1. Acknowledge Christ as Savior and seek to live life as His disciple 2. Believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative, inerrant Word of God - our standard for faith and practice 3. Believe and actively support the school's statement of faith 4. Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others. This includes being committed to God's Biblical standards for sexual conduct. 5. Be a person who shows evidence of sound Biblical doctrine in their living 6. Motivate students to accept God's gift of salvation and be a Christian witness and role model to them to help them grow in their faith Spiritual Leadership 1. Maintain high ethics, honesty, and integrity in all personal and professional matters 2. Follow the Matthew 18 principle in dealing with conflict with students, parents, staff, and administration
Key Responsibilities Instructional Excellence Curriculum Delivery:
Plan and implement comprehensive lesson plans in core subjects: English Language Arts (ELA), Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, aligned with school standards.Differentiation:
Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students.Critical Thinking:
Move beyond rote memorization to encourage inquiry-based learning and complex problem-solving.Classroom Management & Environment Transition Preparation:
Establish routines that mirror middle school expectations, such as increased independence, long-term project management, and organizational skills.Positive Culture:
Build a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom.Conflict Resolution:
Guide students through the social complexities of early adolescence with empathy and firm boundaries.Assessment & Data Analysis Evaluation:
Administer formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.Data-Driven Instruction:
Use student performance data to identify learning gaps and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of grades and attendance, providing timely feedback to students and parents.Collaboration & Communication Family Engagement:
Maintain open lines of communication with parents/guardians regarding student successes and challenges via conferences, emails, and digital platforms.Team Participation:
Collaborate with grade-level peers, specialists (Art, Music, PE), and administration to improve school-wide outcomes.Professional Development:
Participate in ongoing training and faculty meetings to stay current on educational best practicesQualifications & Skills Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education or a related field. 1-2 years of classroom experience preferredLicensure:
Valid State Teaching Certification for Elementary Education (specifically covering Grade 6). preferredTechnology:
Proficient in using technology for instruction and record-keeping (e.g., smartboards, grading software).Soft Skills:
High emotional intelligence, patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for working with pre-teens.Organization:
Strong management of time and multiple subject curriculums. •Certification:
ACSI certification within the first year of teaching Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods and move quickly around a classroom. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (e.g., books, classroom supplies). Visual and auditory acuity to monitor student activity and safety.Pay:
