Job Description
Sigsbee Charter School, located in Key West, is looking for the best candidate to fill a Lead Teacher position (1st Grade) and become a part of our amazing team for the 2026-2027 school year. Salary:
Base Salary ranges from $62,100 to $102,300, commensurate with experience.

Teachers earn a total of 7 days of paid leave per school year (5 sick days and 2 personal days) - PRO-RATED with a Mid Year Start
Eligibility for Florida certification is required. FL certification in Elementary Education (Grades K-6) or Prekindergarten/Primary Education (age 3 through grade 3) is a prerequisite for teaching in field. The Bureau of Educator Certification has developed instructional videos to guide applicants through the certification process, covering topics such as Florida's Online Educator Certification System Set-up and the Florida Teacher Certification Application.

If you hold an unexpired, out-of-state, professional educator certificate in this subject area, please apply for Florida reciprocity.
Elem Ed Major:
Commonly accepted bachelor's (or higher degree) majors for a Florida temporary educator certificate include: Elementary Education 1-6, K-6, N/K-6, K-3, K-4, K-8, K-9, and Upper Elementary 4-6.
Other Majors:
For other degree majors, passing the FTCE Subject Area Exam in Elementary Education K6 is required.
