Elementary/Middle School Teacher

Elementary School Teacher Duties:

• Plan and implement engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and educational standards
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and growth
• Provide instruction in various subjects, including literacy, math, science, and social studies
• Utilize effective teaching strategies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
• Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide feedback to students and parents
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement educational programs and initiatives
• Foster a supportive and respectful classroom community that encourages student participation and engagement
• Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and discipline when necessary
• Provide individualized support to students with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum
• Collaborate with parents/guardians to support student learning and address any concerns

Skills:

• Strong literacy education skills to effectively teach reading, writing, and communication skills
• Mentoring abilities to guide students in their academic and personal development
• Tutoring skills to provide additional support to students who may be struggling academically
• Childcare experience to create a nurturing and safe environment for young learners
• Experience working with elementary school students to understand their unique needs and challenges
• Knowledge of library services to promote reading and research skills among students
• Effective behavior management techniques to maintain a positive classroom environment
• Ability to work with students on the autism spectrum, providing appropriate accommodations and support
• Proficiency in math instruction to teach foundational math concepts at the elementary level
