An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Montessori Guide to join our team in the Elementary program (ages 6-12) . As a Montessori Guide, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining a prepared, engaging learning environment aligned with Montessori philosophy that supports students' academic, social, and emotional development. Your role includes implementing the Montessori curriculum, fostering independence, critical thinking, and collaboration, and guiding each child in their overall development.
Responsibilities:
Create and maintain a safe, orderly, and prepared environment that supports independent learning and holistic student development. Implement the Montessori methodology and curriculum for ages 6-12, offering individual and small-group lessons using developmentally appropriate materials. Observe, document, and assess each student's progress to provide personalized guidance and support. Foster independence, self-regulation, and responsibility through work planning, care of the environment, and conflict resolution. Facilitate daily routines that include extended work cycles, interdisciplinary projects, outdoor activities, and opportunities for community reflection. Ensure the classroom remains aligned with Montessori principles and institutional standards. Collaborate closely and respectfully with families, maintaining clear and ongoing communication regarding student progress. Participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and family conferences as required.
Requirements:
Previous experience working with children ages 6-12. Certification and/or experience in the Montessori methodology is required. A strong vocation for educational guidance and supporting the holistic development of children. Solid classroom management skills that promote autonomy, respect, and collaboration. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, families, and colleagues. First aid certification is required (or willingness to obtain). Training in Montessori Elementary education, Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or Special Education is a plus.
