Job Description

New Springs Schools serve in Tampa FL since 2010 for K-8 students. Kindergarten class size is usually around 15-16 kids. New Springs is a STEM focused public charter school and emphasize hands-on learning in each class. At NSS, we expect our staff members be active members of our school community such as being mentors for some of our students, participate in night and weekend activities for families etc. We are looking for a teacher who would like to be a long term partner with us in our goals. Responsibilities and Duties
  • Teaches core subject content. (We have specialized teachers for electives)
  • Provides problem based learning opportunities
  • Utilizes hands-on teaching methods especially in math and science
  • Reviews national level assessment results such as i-Ready and adjusts her teaching based on the outcome
  • Brings a love of reading to her/his class
  • Communicates with parents frequently
  • Provides assessments and grades
  • Monitors breakfast, lunch and/or dismissal when she/he is on a duty day.
  • May be asked to run a club or mentorship group Qualifications and Skills Has either one of the options below;
  • holds a valid FL professional teaching certificate, (other state certificates are acceptable)
  • holds a valid FL temporary teaching certificate with passing scores on GK tests
  • applied(or will apply) for a FL teaching certificate and/or holds a statement of eligibility Benefits
