Job Description

Somerset Academy Wellington, a K-12 tuition-free public charter school, is seeking a full-time 5th Grade ELA, Writing, and Social Studies Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. We are currently expanding our student body and are searching for dedicated educators with valid Florida Teaching Certifications. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching 5th Grade English Language Arts, Writing, and Social Studies while fostering a positive, engaging, and academically rigorous classroom environment. The teacher will inspire students to become strong readers, effective writers, critical thinkers, and responsible citizens through standards-based instruction and meaningful learning experiences. We are seeking motivated and dedicated educators who recognize the importance of different learning styles and are committed to supporting students as they grow academically and personally. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong classroom management skills, a passion for elementary education, and a commitment to helping all students achieve success.
Responsibilities Include:
Planning and delivering engaging lessons aligned with Florida State Standards. Teaching 5th Grade ELA, Writing, and Social Studies curriculum. Differentiating instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Developing students' reading comprehension, writing, vocabulary, and critical thinking skills. Utilizing data-driven instruction to monitor student progress and guide academic growth. Preparing students for state assessments and academic success. Maintaining accurate student records and grades. Communicating regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom expectations. Creating a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and achievement. Collaborating with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to support student success. Participating in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events.
