An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

The Primary Teacher is directly responsible for the planning, development and implementation of daily early childhood development learning experiences and activities and for the day-to-day management of an assigned classroom, including the supervision of assigned Secondary Teacher and/or classroom volunteer(s).
  • Minimum of Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education is required. Degree must be conferred, not in process.
  • Must possess a valid first aid and CPR certification
  • Must be a US citizen; have a Permanent Resident Card, or an alien Registration Receipt Card (Form I-551)
  • Must have and maintain a clean driving record (NOT
TO EXCEED 6 PTS
)
  • Must have and maintain a criminal history absent of convictions for violent crimes or for any crime against children
