Jul 21, 2026 Job Description Job Summary Teachers are responsible for designing and implementing PBLs to educate students. Their duties include classroom instruction, planning field learning experiences, assigning student work, assessing student work, and documenting student progress. Teachers must have authority over their classroom and reach students with an engaging curriculum. Teachers are responsible for creating and maintaining a learning environment that guides and encourages students to develop and fulfill their potential. Teacher working conditions are student learning conditions. Classroom Responsibilities Include Embody TIMA's design principles of creativity, empathy, collaboration, and service in all work activities and actions Uphold and model the tenets of TIMA's Love Your People program: Contribute, Be kind, Be patient, Be honest, Encourage people, Apologize, Forgive, Thank people Document and update PBL framework prior to the beginning of each quarter to support collaboration, transparency, and institutional knowledge Create and deliver daily lessons that are engaging, educational, and exciting for the students and part of problem-based units aligned to STEAM guidelines and Maritime focus areas Actively include arts integration into problem-based learning units Provide feedback and grades on student work in a timely manner to keep students and families updated on student progress Identify students who are struggling with learning, emotional problems, or situations at home, and finds them the resources they need Use student STEAM journals to challenge students to think critically about problems they are solving Utilize MAP Growth data and student work to inform differentiated instruction Facilitate student-led conferences each semester to help establish learning goals, track and communicate progress, and support learning adjustments as needed Student, Class, and Family Engagement Guidelines Help hold students accountable to themselves, cultivating their internal motivation Respect students as individuals Foster a sense of community and interdependence in the classroom, encouraging multiple perspectives Establish positive shared experiences with meaning and educative value Help students to connect ideas with their lives and help them build on their own experiences Have shared responsibility for learning using student voice, representation, and active involvement in the classroom Engage and support parents in raising creative and independent thinkers Hold students accountable for respecting their learning spaces Professional Responsibilities Take ownership for the growth of your talents Find and participate in meaningful professional development Be a positive, contributing member of your team and the school's culture; Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale. Be a problem solver - Share feedback with peers and school leadership on a regular basis Stay informed and educated on trends regarding Apple technology and other innovations in the classroom Plan and coordinate purposeful assignments for paraprofessional(s), other supporting staff, and volunteer(s), and provide input to the administrative staff on the performance of these individuals. School Responsibilities Support colleagues and students by attending occasional school functions outside of school hours Assumes responsibility for the total school program, its safety and good order Respect the confidentiality of information as it relates to students, colleagues, and the operations of the school Assumes responsibility for supervising students in out-of-class settings Contribute to the planning and execution of occasional school-wide events Develop strong relationships with the families of students Perform necessary support duties including (but not limited to) bus, lunch, and dismissal duties Chaperone field lessons/field trips Additional responsibilities may arise during the school year. They will be communicated to all employees with as much notice and flexibility as possible. Candidate Requirements Skills and Disposition Communicates effectively, orally and in writing. Willingness to collaborate on curriculum development and school growth Ability to manage the time of self and others efficiently and effectively Consistently work with discretion, sound judgment, equity, and integrity Can work with little direct guidance but can take direction from others. Proficient knowledge of teaching strategies and methods Committed to the profession of classroom teaching Qualifications Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or universityPreferred:
Advanced degree(s) Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in the assigned teaching field Hold Apple Teacher Certification or be willing to pursue certification Have Gifted endorsement or be willing to pursue endorsement Terms of Employment, Salary, and Benefits Incumbents will receive an at-will annual contract. The work calendar will be 190 days. Salary and Incentives TIMA pay is aligned with the SCCPSS scale with a salary range of $52,839 to $109,029 Per Year / Per Year. There is a potential for an additional incentive structure aligned to meeting milestones pre-defined by administration. Benefits TIMA employees are members of the Georgia Teachers Retirement System (TRS) and are eligible to participate in State Health Benefit Plan, group dental, vision, and supplemental coverages.
