Immediately Job Description Laurens-Marathon Community School has an Elementary Teacher position for the 2025-2026 school year. Our school district currently has 140 students that range from preschool through 6th grade. Laurens is located in the northwest corner of Pocahontas County in Iowa with a population of about 1200 people. Laurens is known as the "Busiest Little Town in Iowa;" because of the Industries.Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Instruction:
Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons in core subjects such as math, reading, writing, science, and social studies, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed.Differentiation:
Adapt lessons and materials to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those who may need additional support or enrichment.Assessment and Feedback:
Regularly assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and provide constructive feedback to students and parents. Maintain accurate records of student performance.Classroom Management:
Foster a respectful, safe, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and a love of learning.Collaboration:
Work closely with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to ensure the overall development and well-being of students.Professional Development:
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends, instructional strategies, and best practices.Communication:
Regularly communicate with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and academic goals through conferences, reports, and other forms of communication.Extracurricular Involvement:
Engage with students beyond the classroom by participating in school events, field trips, and other extracurricular activities as appropriate.Other Duties:
Perform other related duties as assigned by the school principal or administration.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field (required). Valid teaching certification (required). Experience teaching elementary-aged children (preferred, but not required). Strong classroom management skills. Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Collaborative team player with a passion for working with young learners.Personal Attributes:
