The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the unique needs of gifted learners and will be committed to fostering an engaging and challenging learning environment. This role requires creativity, adaptability, and a strong ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a rigorous curriculum tailored to the needs of gifted and talented students, promoting critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
  • Design and facilitate engaging lessons that encourage exploration and inquiry-based learning.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of methods, providing timely feedback and support to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialists, and parents to create an integrated approach to student learning and development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that nurtures the social and emotional well-being of gifted learners.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in gifted education and instructional strategies.
  • Foster a love of learning by encouraging students to pursue their interests and passions through independent projects and group activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and needs.
  • Contribute to the school community by participating in meetings, committees, and school events. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Gifted Education or equivalent experience, is preferred.
  • Proven experience working with gifted and talented students, preferably at the elementary level.
  • Strong knowledge of differentiation strategies and curriculum development for gifted learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to create a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and growth in the field of education.
  • Familiarity with technology and educational software to enhance classroom instruction.
