This contract position brings the chance to inspire young minds and foster a love for art while teaching fundamental skills and concepts. You'll work weekdays, 37.5 hours per week, in a supportive academic environment near Glenwood, IL. As the classroom leader, you'll design engaging lesson plans, guide students through projects, and assess their progress through test administration and grading. Ideal candidates will possess:
A valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an Art endorsement that covers at least 5th and 6th grades (must indicate licensure in application) Previous experience teaching general education or art, particularly in upper elementary or early middle school grades Strong classroom management and organizational skills The ability to develop and deliver direct instruction tailored to various learning styles A genuine passion for helping students express themselves creatively and succeed academically Excellent communication skills for collaboration with students, staff, and families Key responsibilities include: Leading dynamic classroom sessions for 5th and 6th grade art students Creating, adapting, and implementing engaging curriculum materials Administering and grading tests, projects, and assignments Managing classroom routines, behavior, and fostering a positive environment Providing regular feedback to students and participating in parent-teacher communications The pay rate for this position ranges from $37.50 to $46.75 per hour, depending on your experience, degree level, and licensure.
