4th Grade Homeroom Teacher

Science Academy of Chicago is looking for a highly qualified Upper Elementary Teacher to teach in the following areas: Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science adhering to IL Common Core State Standards (ILCCSS) and Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). Cultural competency and ability to move comfortably in a diverse community Bachelor's Degree (required) Master's Degree (preferred) Valid Illinois Teaching Certificate (preferred) Valid ESL Endorsement (preferred) Understanding of Common Core State Standards Strong skills in classroom management Preferred training and/or experience or willingness to increase knowledge and use of the following instructional and engagement strategies to include: Strong Classroom Management Skills, Student Centered Classroom, Workshop Model, Balanced Literacy Approach (modeled, shared, guided), Reading/Writing Process, Differentiation, Teaching and Learning Cycle (assessment, evaluation, planning, teaching), Collaborative Team Member www.saoc.org
