Job Description

Elementary Level Teacher Western Wayne Elementary School Applications are currently being accepted for the position of elementary teacher at Western Wayne Elementary School (Cambridge City, Indiana) starting in January of the 2026-2027 school year. Nature and Scope of the Job The Elementary Educator at Western Wayne Schools serves as the primary architect of the classroom learning environment. The nature of this position is highly collaborative, requiring the teacher to work in lockstep with grade-level teams, interventionists, and administration to ensure no student is left behind. The educator is expected to be a positive influence, maintaining a professional presence characterized by reliability and a commitment to students. This role is central to the district's mission of providing a premier education that prepares students for a rapidly changing, STEM-driven world.
Key Responsibilities Instructional Excellence & Differentiation Master Lesson Planning:
Design and execute highly engaging, standards-aligned lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
Differentiated Instruction:
Demonstrate a sophisticated ability to differentiate for all student needs, including tailoring content, process, and products for students with IEPs, 504 plans, English Language Learners (ELL), and high-ability learners.
STEM Preference:
Integrate Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) principles across the curriculum to foster critical thinking and inquiry-based learning.
Data-Driven Instruction:
Regularly analyze formative and summative assessment data to pivot instruction, group students effectively, and ensure every child meets or exceeds growth targets.
Student Support & MTSS MTSS Implementation:
Utilize Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) to provide high-quality instruction and interventions matched to student needs.
Advocacy:
Act as a relentless advocate for students, ensuring all educational decisions are grounded in their academic and social-emotional well-being.
Culture & Collaboration Team Player:
Actively participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), sharing resources and strategies with grade-level peers.
Climate Contributor:
Serve as a "culture champion" within the building, maintaining a positive, solution-oriented attitude that inspires both students and colleagues.
Communication:
Maintain proactive, professional, and clear lines of communication with parents, guardians, and administration regarding student progress. Qualifications & Skills To be successful in this role, the candidate must demonstrate a high level of professional competence and a commitment to the school's mission.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a valid State Teaching License. Assessment & Software (Preferred): Experience with Vimme and iReady is strongly preferred to drive instructional decisions and monitor student growth.
Professional Reliability:
Excellent attendance and punctuality are required to ensure instructional consistency for students.
Organizational Systems:
Highly organized with the ability to manage classroom logistics, student records, and instructional materials effectively.
Collaborative Mindset:
A proven track record of being a team player who contributes positively to building climate and culture.
