MSD of Shakamak is seeking a student-centered, collaborative, and highly effective Elementary Teacher to join our team. This position is responsible for providing high-quality instruction aligned to Indiana Academic Standards while fostering a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will prioritize student learning, build strong relationships, and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and school pride. Essential Responsibilites Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic and developmental needs of students Use formative and summative assessment data to guide instruction and monitor student progress Create a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment that supports student growth Establish clear expectations for student behavior and promote accountability Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional staff, and administration Communicate effectively and consistently with students, families, and colleagues Support students' social, emotional, and behavioral development Maintain accurate records, including grades, attendance, and required documentation Participate in professional development and school improvement initiatives Ensure compliance with all district, state, and federal requirements Qualifications Valid Indiana teaching license in Elementary Education (or ability to obtain) Strong understanding of Indiana Academic Standards and instructional best practices Knowledge of assessment practices and data-driven instruction Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff Strong classroom management and organizational skills Commitment to collaboration, professionalism, and continuous growth Preferred Qulifications Experience with IREAD, ILEARN or similar state assessment systems Background in implementing evidence-based instructional strategies Experience working in a rural or small school setting Application Process Interested candidates should submit: Letter of interest Resume Copy of teaching license References Applications will be accepted until positions is filled.
