An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

School Year DUTIES :
A qualified teaching candidate will provide instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs. This teacher monitors student growth using the 8 step process, is competent using data collection models to assess and track student growth, and is able to integrate technology and the arts into instructional plans. The teacher candidate will be an effective classroom manager, able to collaborate with teachers, work actively with students and parents and communicate academic necessities for student growth. Other duties which will be assessed include: Use of multiple sources of data collection including the 8-step process, Acuity, and fluency testing to inform instructional decisions. Use a variety of teaching strategies to engage students in the learning process. Develop daily effective lesson plans and complete reflections on a daily/weekly basis. Structure the classroom environment to maintain student interest and engagement. Maintain professional responsibility for planning, implementing and evaluating the process of learning.
QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Indiana Teaching License and must be Highly Qualified Bachelor's of Degree in Elementary/Secondary Education or related field Prefer experience in the grade/content level during the past 3 years Must not currently be on a Performance Improvement Plan.
WORKING CONDITIONS
: Works in standard office and school building environments. Must be able to work regularly scheduled hours. Must be able to handle stress.
