Montessori Kids Universe Louisville is dedicated to providing a nurturing, authentic Montessori learning environment where children develop independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. Our program blends Montessori philosophy with strong early childhood education practices to support the whole child. We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Montessori Toddler Teacher to guide our toddler classroom (ages 24 months - 3 years). Position SummaryThe Lead Montessori Toddler Teacher is responsible for preparing and maintaining a developmentally appropriate Montessori classroom environment, guiding young children in their early stages of independence, and fostering a respectful and nurturing atmosphere that supports each child's growth. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain a Montessori-aligned toddler classroom environment Guide children through practical life, sensorial, language, and early social development activities Observe and assess children's developmental progress Create and implement lesson plans based on Montessori principles Foster independence, confidence, and respect among children Maintain classroom cleanliness, organization, and safety Communicate regularly with parents regarding children's progress and development Collaborate with school leadership and staff to support the school's educational mission Ensure compliance with state childcare licensing regulations Supervise assistant teachers and support staff in the classroom Qualifications Montessori Toddler Certification (AMI, AMS, MACTE, or equivalent) Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred Minimum 1-2 years experience working with toddlers in a Montessori or early childhood classroom Strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and child development Excellent classroom management and communication skills Ability to create a nurturing and structured learning environment CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Skills & Attributes Patient, calm, and nurturing personality Strong leadership and classroom organization skills Passion for Montessori education Ability to work collaboratively with staff and families Professional, reliable, and punctual
