An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

Keystone Montessori School is looking for 1 EEC certified infant-toddler teacher to join a classroom team from 10 am to 6:00 pm daily beginning immediately. Position requires a gentle, loving and kind demeanor, positive redirection techniques, excellent classroom management, assisting the children while they develop independence, replacing activities where they found them, helping with toileting, following health policies, and supervising the children during lunch, playground and rest time. After school from 3 to 6 you will be in charge of the aftercare students from your classroom where you can create special projects or supervise free play. Someone who is confident with parent communications, has caring interactions with the children, has a warm and compassionate personality with a fun sense of humor are important. Candidate must be open to learning and taking direction from senior Montessori educators as you adjust to the classroom. We offer paid CPR and first aid training to all staff yearly. This position is a 12 month position with paid sick days, paid lunch break, personal days, professional days , 2 weeks off mid December, and an additional 2 weeks vacation of your choosing. Keystone is an American Montessori School that serves children aged 3 months through grade 6 in a 18,000 square foot facility with 10 classrooms, library, art room and kitchen.
