Aug 31, 2026 Job Description Grade 1 Teacher The Peter Noyes Elementary School is seeking a Grade 1 Teacher who will work collaboratively with the team and be primarily responsible for the development of appropriate curricula, daily high-quality instruction, and the on-going success of each and every student in the classroom.
  • Plan, develop, and utilize a variety of instructional materials and aids appropriate to the intellectual and instructional level of students from varied socio-economic and cultural backgrounds that possess a range of mental and emotional maturity;
  • Provide group and individual instruction to motivate students and effectively utilize the time available for instructional activities;
  • Use assessment data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices;
  • Evaluate academic growth of students and maintain appropriate records;
  • Participate in curriculum development, grade-level activities, and school-wide functions;
  • Support students' academic, social, and emotional development;
  • Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards;
  • Design and implement assessments that measure progress towards academic standards;
  • Communicate effectively and consistently with students, families, and colleagues;
  • Provide support, accommodations, and attention to all students;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to school improvement efforts;
  • Ensure students are engaged and invested in the classroom and managing behavior;
  • Complete other related duties as assigned.
Salary in accordance with SEA salary schedule Level and Steps based on degree and years of service Ranges from B to M+60
Approx:
$57,600-$127,400
