To Be Determined Job Description West Boylston Public Schools is seeking a dedicated, experienced Kindergarten teacher. The ideal candidate is passionate and understands child development and will be able to guide our students through their first formal year of schooling.
Position Overview:
The Kindergarten Teacher will plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lesson plans that facilitate active, hands-on learning while adhering to curriculum standards. The ideal candidate will cultivate a warm classroom community, support social-emotional development, and prepare students for a successful transition into first grade.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruction & Curriculum:
Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with standards, focusing on foundational literacy and numeracy skills •
Classroom Environment:
Design a safe, organized, inviting classroom environment that encourages exploration and independent learning •
Social-Emotional Learning:
Teach and model positive behaviors, conflict resolution, and peer interaction •
Assessment & Evaluation:
Observe and evaluate students' academic and social progress, and communicate findings through regular formative and summative assessments, report cards and parent-teacher conferences •
Collaboration:
Work closely with the kindergarten team, special education staff, administration and families to support the diverse needs of all learners
