Gerstell Academy seeks enthusiastic, nurturing, adaptable, and dependable Substitute Teachers to support our instructional program on an as-needed basis. Successful candidates will foster a positive learning environment, implement instructional plans provided by classroom teachers, and support students across a variety of grade levels and subject areas. Instructional Responsibilities Implement lesson plans and classroom procedures provided by the classroom teacher. Create a warm, engaging, and well-structured classroom environment that supports student learning and reflects Gerstell's leadership values. Maintain a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment. Supervise students throughout the school day, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and other assigned duties. Support instruction in academic subjects and classroom activities as directed by the classroom teacher. Adapt instruction and activities to meet the developmental needs of students across various grade levels. Establish positive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate classroom management. Communicate effectively with faculty and administrators regarding classroom experiences, student needs, and any concerns that arise during the school day. Uphold all school policies, procedures, and confidentiality expectations. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred. Educational background in early childhood, elementary, secondary education, or related field preferred. Prior experience working with children or adolescents in a school, camp, childcare, coaching, tutoring, or youth-centered setting strongly preferred. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Ability to work effectively with students from Pre-K through Grade 12. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Demonstrated flexibility, patience, professionalism, and enthusiasm for working with students. Commitment to supporting a values-based, leadership-focused school community.
