Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Job Description

St. Paul's Lutheran School is seeking a passionate and dedicated elementary classroom teacher for the 2026-27 school year. Creativity and innovation are a plus, encouraging students to be engaged and involved in their learning experience. We are a parochial school with the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. All teaching positions are ministerial positions that are required to perform important religious functions. These functions include but are not limited to incorporating the Christian faith into all aspects of the Employee's job duties. The employee may be called upon to lead and/or otherwise participate in Christian devotions, prayer, and/or Chapel services at various times throughout the school year. Candidates are not required to be Lutheran, but are expected to be a member and regular worshipper at a Christian church.
Job Summary:
A teacher at St. Paul's Lutheran School will prayerfully help students gain the knowledge, skills, behaviors, and attitudes that will contribute to their development as mature and responsible Christian citizens. He/she exemplifies the qualities of a strong Christian character, both on and off the job. An Elementary Teacher is responsible for teaching fundamental subjects to children in grades K-5, including creating lesson plans, grading homework and tests and answering questions from students. He/she will provide instruction according to the approved curriculum and may serve as a lunch/recess attendant.
Qualifications:
Is a member in good standing of a Christian church. Has a BA or BS or above from an accredited institution. Has the ability to effectively communicate with students and differentiate instruction. Has a humble, teachable spirit and willingness to respect and abide by administrative authority. Has a heart and calling to educational ministry and love for serving the children placed under our care.
