An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.
Monsignor Slade Catholic School , located in Glen Burnie, MD, is seeking a full-time substitute teacher for our PreK2, PreK3, and PreK4 classrooms at our Edu-Care Center. This is a 10-month position with the option for summer hours and includes eligibility for benefits. Qualified candidates will demonstrate strong instructional skills, a nurturing approach to teaching, and a deep commitment to the social and academic development of young children. Essential Functions Actively supervise students at all times. Provide instruction to students based on lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher. Communicate with parents in a clear, professional, and timely manner. Support the mission of the school and the Catholic Church through instructional practices and daily interactions. Position Qualifications Successful completion of 6 semester hours, 90 clock hours, or the equivalent of approved pre-service training, or possession of a Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential. Minimum of 3 years of experience working with children in a child care center or school setting.
