An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.
RSU #23 Old Orchard Beach Schools Loranger Memorial School Grade 3 Classroom Teacher 1.0 FTE Located a mile from the Atlantic Ocean and 15 minutes from Portland, Loranger Memorial School is a 260 student, grades 3-8 school within RSU 23 seeking a Grade 3 Classroom Teacher to join our faculty for the start of the 2026-2027 school year. Extensive knowledge of the Common Core State Standards and Maine Learning Results In-depth understanding of curriculum, instruction, and assessment as it relates to proficiency-based education Extensive knowledge and skills in elementary instructional practices Willingness to collaborate with teachers, administrators, community leaders and other stakeholders to ensure highly effective educational programming for all students Demonstrated ability to deliver rigorous, relevant, and differentiated instruction to students of varying abilities Ability to integrate technology to support and enhance instruction Knowledge and experience utilizing PBIS strategies to manage the classroom Willingness and openness to try new techniques and methods and incorporate current best practices in instruction as well as taking professional and educational risks Interest in participating in the school community outside of the classroom Ability to effectively engage all students in relevant, inquiry-based learning experiences Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders within the school community For more information on this position please contact Principal Matthew Foster
