What they do
An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Previous experience in teaching Passionate about working with children Ability to build rapport with children Positive and patient demeanor Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with curriculum development and implementation Classroom experience Willingness to learn and grow Strong communication skills and a friendly, nurturing attitude Excellent organizational and time management skills High level of computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, email, apps to share info with parents) The lead teacher position is a salaried position. Paid holidays and school breaks. We offer health benefits for the staff member as well as 8 paid days off. We are an Islamic Montessori School that houses infants through 8th grade students. Infants through Elementary is Montessori. Our middle school (grades 6-8) operates as a college prep environment.We are a community oriented environment. Our students also take Islamic Studies and Arabic as a second language. Our students are very high performing. We aim to keep our class sizes small enough to make sure we are individualizing instruction for all students. This is a great place to work at. - Develop and implement lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students.
- Teach various subjects, including math, science, language arts, and social studies.
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies to engage students and promote active learning.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and coordinate instructional activities.
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.
- Provide individualized support and early intervention for students with special needs or learning difficulties and provide support for students that are above grade level and need to be pushed to achieve at higher levels.
- Utilize technology and educational resources to enhance instruction.
Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent organizational skills to effectively manage lesson planning, grading, and student records.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to create a positive classroom environment.
- Familiarity with education administration processes and procedures.
- Experience working with children This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
