TEACHER of the Severely Emotionally Impaired (SEI) Maple Lane Elementary
QUALIFICATIONS
: 1. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. 2. A valid Michigan teaching certificate with an endorsement in Severely Emotionally Impaired (SEI), or willingness to obtain. 3. Experience working with high school special education students. 4. Crisis Prevention Institute certification or willingness to obtain. 5. Must pass criminal background check as required by School Safety Legislation.
RESPONSIBILITIES SHALL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO
1. Evaluate pupil's academic and affective skills with both standardized and self-constructed tests. 2. Plan curriculum under the direction of the principal for all students assigned to the class. 3. Analyze and record behavioral and academic skills and progress of students. Communicate those to students/parents verbally and through written progress reports. 4. Establish instructional and behavioral objectives for students through the IEP process. Update and revise as required. 5. Demonstrate knowledge and implementation of best practices in curriculum development, teaching strategies and assessment. 6. Effective classroom management techniques in accordance with school and MISD board policies. 7. Maintain daily anecdotal records of students. 8. Provide supervision and direction to assigned paraprofessionals. 9. Participate in IEP andMET/REEDprocess as directed by administration. 10. Develop Functional Behavior Assessments and Positive Behavior Support plans. 11. Assist in identifying students' transition needs and goals, and coordinate with outside businesses/agencies when appropriate. 12. Perform all other duties as appropriate and determined by principal or administrator.

Maple Lane Elementary SALARY :
Direct Service and Degree Specialist salary schedule as per the MIFT Master Agreement. Credit given for prior experience. Starting salary range $58,765-$103.859.
UNION :
Position would be within the Macomb Intermediate Federation of Teachers.
