An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

VACANCY Position:

Kincheloe Elementary School Requirements:
Current Elementary Michigan Certification; or Willing to work with out-of-state candidates and alternative path candidates in obtaining MI certification or in the process of obtaining, i.e. mid-year graduate
Preferences:
Knowledge of a variety of research-based instructional practices Strong classroom management skills Ability to work effectively with a diverse cultural, racial and socio-economic student population Ability to utilize technology to enhance instruction Ability to work as a member of a team Willingness to learn and be coached
