Description:
Forest Area Community Schools is seeking an elementary teacher. Forest Area Community Schools is a small district in northern Michigan which serves around 500 students, PreK-12, in the communities of Fife Lake and South Boardman.
Duties and responsibilities:
Plan and implement activities to meet the academic, social, and emotional needs of students Develop weekly lesson plans utilizing district provided curriculum Help maintain and assist in the establishment of good school-community relations Regularly inform parents of program expectations, activities, and their child's progress Be an active team member within a grade level PLC to assist in making data-driven decisions Be familiar with emergency procedures Assist administration in the implementation of school and board policies
Qualifications:
Minimum of Bachelor's Degree with valid Michigan Elementary Teaching Certificate Knowledge of requirements of state and federal mandates Experience highly preferred Ability to work well within a team environment Excellent communication skills, both oral and written Student-focused approach
