An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

Current, valid Michigan Teaching Certificate. Meets Highly Quaified endorsements for General Elementary (ZG/ZP) Experience utilizing "Best Practice" researched-based teaching strategies. Knowledge of Tier 1 and Tier 2 intervention strategies.Duties & Responsibilities:
Provide instruction that align with state standards and the district curriculum guidelines. Develop and implement engaging instructional strategies that meet the diverse learning needs of students. Assess student progress and provide feedback to students and parents/guardians. Collaborate with staff to plan and continuously evaluate and align the curriculum and teaching practices. Participate in professional development and stay current on new teaching strategies, technology, and curriculum.
