Summary Holbrook Elementary is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a 1st Grade Teacher. The ideal candidate will foster a positive and engaging learning environment for young learners, helping them develop foundational skills in literacy, mathematics, and social-emotional growth. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the educational standards and cater to the diverse learning needs of students. Create a nurturing classroom environment that encourages student participation, curiosity, and respect. Assess and monitor student progress through various evaluation methods, providing feedback and support as needed. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and support staff to promote student learning and well-being. Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods into the curriculum to enhance student engagement. Maintain a safe and organized classroom that promotes a positive learning atmosphere. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational best practices and strategies. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and any concerns. Uphold school policies and procedures while fostering a sense of community within the classroom and school. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or a related field. Valid teaching certification for elementary education (specific to the state of employment). Experience working with young children, preferably in a classroom setting. Strong knowledge of child development and effective teaching strategies for early learners. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners. Proficiency in using technology for educational purposes and classroom management. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement in teaching practices.
