Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and passionate educator to join our team at JPS Sharp Park Academy as a 5th Grade Teacher. The ideal candidate will inspire and motivate students while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. This full-time position requires a commitment to academic excellence, creativity in lesson planning, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and the community. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Create a positive, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love of learning. Assess and monitor student progress through regular evaluations, providing constructive feedback to students and parents. Collaborate with fellow teachers and staff to integrate curriculum and share best practices. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and academic needs. Organize and participate in school events, field trips, and extracurricular activities to enhance student learning experiences. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other essential documentation. Implement classroom management strategies to maintain a safe and productive learning environment. Stay current with educational trends, teaching strategies, and professional development opportunities. Support the social and emotional development of students, addressing individual needs and promoting a positive classroom culture. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field. Valid teaching certification for elementary education. Experience teaching 5th grade or a similar age group is preferred. Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues. Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance instruction. Ability to differentiate instruction and modify lessons to meet the needs of all learners. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive classroom environment.
