Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Kindergarten Teacher at JPS John R Lewis Elementary. In this full-time position, you will play a vital role in fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young learners. You will be responsible for implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum that encourages creativity, social skills, and a love for learning. The ideal candidate will be committed to the academic and emotional growth of each child and will work collaboratively with staff and parents to ensure a supportive educational experience. Responsibilities Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles. Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment that promotes positive behavior and emotional well-being. Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to enhance learning outcomes. Facilitate hands-on activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and critical thinking. Foster strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to build a supportive school community. Collaborate with special education staff to accommodate the needs of students with diverse abilities. Maintain a safe and organized classroom, ensuring that materials and resources are accessible and conducive to learning. Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities through newsletters, meetings, and conferences. Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices and trends. Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a positive and inclusive school culture. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Valid teaching certification or license for early childhood education. Experience working with young children in an educational setting preferred. Strong understanding of child development principles and early literacy skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and staff. Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learners. Proficient in using technology for teaching and classroom management. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to fostering a love of learning and promoting social-emotional development in young children. CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
