Elementary Teacher Archdiocese of Detroit - 3.4 Livonia, MI Job Details 5 hours ago Qualifications Teaching Certification Math Full Job Description St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a fifth/sixth grade teacher with a strong Math background for the 2026-2027 school year. St. Michael School is a faith-based community dedicated to bringing Jesus into our students' lives through exceptional academics and rich faith experiences. We are looking for an innovative, energetic, faith-filled individual who is passionate about engaging students and challenging them to meet their potential. The ideal candidate should possess the ability to provide students with strong and exceptional foundational skills through active and differentiated instruction while preparing them for the rigors of junior high and beyond.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Education Valid teaching certificate issued by the Michigan Department of Education Archdiocese of Detroit Certified Catechist - current certificate, or willingness to obtain Eagerness to continuously enrich teaching expertise through engagement in professional development opportunities. Additionally, the candidate must complete the Protecting God's Children training and other compliance needs. The ideal candidate should be prepared to: Provide rigorous instruction in alignment with Catholic teachings Create an environment where Jesus is at the center of all learning and interactions, and the school vision is practiced. - "Followers of our catholic faith, champions of academic excellence and moral leaders for the future". Plan and deliver lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum and educational standards Work as a member of a supportive faculty Collaborate with colleagues on a regular basis Strive for academic excellence through the use of robust teaching methods, student engagement and technology integration Implement best pedagogical practices, Demonstrate competence in the subject areas taught Provide innovative and differentiated instruction to best reach all levels of learners and learning styles Establishes a consistent disciplinary approach which sets high standards for student behavior, promotes self-direction and confidence, and manages inappropriate behavior effectively Maintain a positive relationship with parents, students, and colleagues through regular communication Provide a caring and nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe to learn and grow academically, socially, and spiritually Completes additional administrative, operational, and professional responsibilities as needed Interested applicants should submit the following materials: including a cover letter, resume, and a list of references to Mrs. Debbie Armstrong at
