What We're Looking For We are seeking an enthusiastic educator who believes in our mission and is ready to witness to the evangelizing love of Jesus Christ in the 3rd grade classroom.
The Responsibilities Faith Integration:
Develop engaging lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate and immersed in an authentic Catholic worldview.
Classroom Culture :
Lead a well-managed classroom where the faith is immersed through the integration of prayer, faith, virtue, and reflection into the daily life of the students.
Instructional Excellence :
Create a positive, supportive environment that fosters student engagement, respect, and a sense of community, while also meeting the unique needs, talents, and interests of each student. Collaboration with
Parents:
Support the parents in their primary role as educators through regular communication, updates, conferences, and accessible channels. Collaboration with
Colleagues:
Work closely with teachers, administrators, our pastor, and support staff to promote a culture that is aimed at helping students to flourish in the world, but more importantly encouraging them to become Saints.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Instruct students at a high level on a daily basis in the subject(s) designated in the teacher's contract and cater instruction to various student needs Contribute to a unified, sequential schoolwide approach to education by coordinating individual teaching goals and curriculum with those of department and of the school as a whole Prepare and submit to Principal measurable learning objectives for various subjects taught and design instruction toward the goal of meeting these objectives Prepare regular lesson plans for weekly/monthly review and approval of Principal as well as detailed emergency lesson plans for substitutes Attend to the general administrative responsibilities of a teacher including presence at all faculty meetings and school events at which faculty attendance is required; preparing and submitting required student records and reports on a timely basis; maintaining effective communication with parents of students; and performing other school-related duties as required Maintain professional growth, teaching credentials, and catechetical credentials by attending college courses and professional seminars related to area of specialty and staying current on best practices in Catholic education Prepare referrals of special student cases or significant school problems and submit them to the proper agency/authority
QUALIFICATIONS
All teachers in the Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Detroit shall be certified and/or approved for teaching by the Department of Education for the State of Michigan. All teachers are required to hold the appropriate endorsement for the subject(s) they are assigned to teach. All teachers who are catechists (teachers of religion) must be certified by the Department of Evangelization, Catechesis and Schools (or willing to obtain such certifications).
