An Elementary School Teacher teaches elementary school students, usually children ages 5 - 11 who are in kindergarten through fifth or sixth grade, in a public or private school. Teaches all subjects, including reading, writing, math, social studies and science, to one class throughout the school year. Plans curriculum and assesses student progress, manages student behavior and communicates with school parents. May specialize in teaching music, art or physical education, or teach students that are learning English, or work with students with learning disabilities or emotional and behavioral disorders.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must have appropriate Elementary Teaching Certification. Elementary K-8, all subjects (ZC); General Elementary K-6 (ZE); Elementary K-5, all subjects (ZG); or Lower Elementary PK-3 (ZO) are preferred. Also accepted are Elementary and K-12 Special Education Certification. Applicants must meet HQ requirements of No Child Left Behind Endorsement. Position Purpose Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc
