The ideal candidate will have a passion for God, nature, outdoor education, and experience working with young children.
School Hours:
8:00 am - 4:30 pm. FT Year Round position Our leadership team and teaching staff enjoy working in a creative environment with flexible schedules and an onsite Coffee Shop! Preferred Candidates will possess a BA degree/teaching license and have experience working in early childhood and the great outdoors.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement nature-based lesson plans and activities for pre-kindergarten children that align with MN state standards and the school's mission and philosophy. Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children while promoting a love and respect for nature and all that God has created. Encourage children to explore and discover the natural world through hands-on experiences, observations, and investigations. Utilize natural materials and resources to enhance learning experiences and promote creativity and imagination. Foster positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues, and maintain open communication with parents and caregivers. Monitor and document children's progress and development, and provide regular feedback to parents and caregivers. Participate in professional development opportunities and stay current on research and trends in nature-based education.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, environmental education, or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching young children in a nature-based or outdoor setting preferred. Knowledge and appreciation of Christianity, the natural world, and the ability to share that enthusiasm with children. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with others. Familiarity with MN Rule 3 state standards and regulations related to early childhood education. Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
