The ideal candidate will foster academic growth, spiritual development, and strong relationships with students and families while creating a positive and engaging classroom environment rooted in Christian values. The 5th Grade Teacher will provide high-quality instruction across core subject areas while helping students develop responsibility, character, critical thinking skills, and a deeper understanding of their identity in Christ. About Calvary Lutheran School Calvary Lutheran School partners with families to provide a Christ-centered education for students from infancy through 8th grade. Our mission is to nurture the whole child academically, spiritually, socially, and emotionally within a caring and faith-filled community. Faculty and staff work collaboratively to create engaging learning experiences while supporting students in their growth as learners, leaders, and followers of Christ. Primary Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate instruction aligned with curriculum standards and school expectations Create a safe, organized, and positive classroom culture that supports student learning and growth Integrate Christian faith and values into daily instruction and interactions with students Assess student learning regularly and use data to guide instruction and interventions Communicate consistently and professionally with parents regarding student progress and classroom activities Collaborate with fellow teachers, administration, and support staff to support student success Maintain accurate student records, lesson plans, and grades Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and school ministry activities Support and uphold the mission and values of Calvary Lutheran School Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required Valid teaching certification preferred or ability to obtain certification Experience teaching upper elementary students preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Commitment to academic excellence and student-centered learning Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment Desire to model Christian faith, character, and professionalism in daily interactions Preferred Characteristics Passion for Christian education and partnering with families Ability to build positive relationships with students and families Strong organizational and instructional skills Growth mindset and willingness to collaborate and innovate Ability to differentiate instruction to meet diverse student needs
