Elementary Teacher Reports To:
Principal Position Summary Provides a structured, supportive, and engaging educational program that enables all students to reach their full academic, social, and emotional potential. Key Responsibilities Instruction and Student Learning  Provide instruction to assigned students at designated times and locations.  Create a developmentally appropriate learning environment that supports student growth.  Establish and clearly communicate learning objectives for lessons and units.  Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned to student needs.  Use a variety of instructional strategies, materials, and technology to support diverse learners.  Maintain high expectations for student behavior in alignment with school standards.  Assess student progress using formative and summative measures, including classroom work and standardized assessments.  Maintain accurate records of student progress, including gradebooks and report cards.  Prepare for and conduct parent conferences as scheduled or requested.  Schedule and adapt instruction to meet individual student needs.  Evaluate and request instructional materials as needed. Classroom Management and Student Support  Establish clear classroom procedures and expectations.  Support student needs, including assistance with daily routines (e.g., lunch, hygiene, transitions) as appropriate.  Supervise and mentor teaching assistants within the classroom.  Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment. Professional Responsibilities  Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school committees as required.  Demonstrate ongoing professional growth and maintain professional competence.  Follow all school policies, procedures, and guidelines, including those outlined in the faculty and student handbooks.  Serve as a positive representative of Epstein Hebrew Academy by maintaining its standards, values, and expectations at school and in the broader community. Collaboration and Communication  Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and experiences.  Collaborate with the principal on instructional practices, classroom management, and student growth.  Work collaboratively with the educational team, including administrators, teachers, counselors, and support staff.  Participate in team meetings to support student programming and special education services.  Provide guidance and mentorship to new staff as assigned.  Be available, within reason, to support students and families outside the instructional day. Resource Management and Safety  Take appropriate precautions to ensure the safety of students, materials, and school facilities. Compliance  Maintain records in accordance with school policies, legal requirements, and accreditation standards.  Support the implementation of school policies and procedures.  Perform additional duties as assigned by the administration and adhere to the faculty handbook.
Qualifications Education and Experience:
 Bachelor's degree in Education or related field (required)  Classroom experience preferred; exceptions may be considered based on relevant experience
Certification:
 Missouri Education Certification in an appropriate area Essential Skills and Abilities Communication Skills  Ability to read, interpret, and apply policies and procedures  Ability to write reports and communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues Problem-Solving Skills  Ability to follow written and verbal instructions  Ability to analyze and respond to a variety of situations involving students Physical Demands  Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, speak, and hear  Ability to move throughout the building and navigate stairs  Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally  Ability to respond quickly in crisis situations to ensure student safety  Regular and consistent attendance required Evaluation Performance will be evaluated annually by the General Studies Principal.
