First Grade Teacher

Job Summary The First Grade Teacher at St. Louis Catholic Academy is responsible for creating a nurturing, faith-centered learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of young learners. This role emphasizes foundational skills in literacy, mathematics, and moral development while fostering a love of learning rooted in Catholic values.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with curriculum standards and Catholic teachings Provide instruction in core subjects including reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and religion Establish a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes respect, responsibility, and Christian character Assess student progress through formal and informal methods and use data to guide instruction and intervention Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs and abilities of students Maintain consistent communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and classroom activities Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and support staff to support school-wide academic and spiritual goals Integrate prayer, service, and faith-based principles into daily instruction and classroom routines Manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement and school-approved discipline procedures Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, liturgical celebrations, and school events

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field Valid teaching certification preferred Commitment to Catholic education and values Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills This position plays a vital role in shaping the academic foundation and moral character of students during an essential stage of their educational journey.
