Classification Information Classification Type EHRA Position Overview Primary Purpose of Position The Aggie Academy Elementary Teacher plans and delivers instruction designed to meet the individualized educational needs of students based on the North Carolina Standard Course of Study. As an Apple Distinguished School (2024-2027) teachers are expected to implement innovative and engaging instruction to enable students to learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development. Maintaining a structured classroom environment that promotes and enhances inquiry-based learning and STEAM and Engineering Design Processes are central components of the Aggie Academy curriculum. Teachers and staff in Aggie Academy are employed by the College of Education, and are expected to actively participate as members of professional learning communities with colleagues, faculty from the College of Education, colleagues in the UNC System Laboratory Schools network, and community partners. This is a pooled position that will be reviewed year-round. Multiple individuals will be selected from this posting. Primary Function of Organizational Unit Aggie Academy is a NC A&T Laboratory School established under the North Carolina General Statute Chapter 116, Article 29A (116-239.5), to improve student performance by providing an enhanced education program for students residing in low performing schools. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree; Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
